My gums were hurting from the temporary crown. After the permanent crown was put on he said in a few weeks my gums would heal. They didn&#8217;t. I finally took tweezers and anything else I could find and pulled out a piece of cement under my gums. NOW my gums are healing. I felt instant relief after extacting this piece of cement. A 7 week ordeal.<br \/>\n&#8211; Mona from Texas<\/p>\n<p>Mona,<br \/>\nThis is a &#8220;no-no&#8221;, for a dentist to leave cement around a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mynewsmile.com\/dental\/dental_crowns.htm\">crown<\/a>, and it will cause gum inflammation until it is removed.<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t assume that you got all the cement but would make an appointment with the dentist, explain what happened, and say you want it checked carefully for any residual cement.
