\nI had a root canal and a crown on Molar #3 in the Spring of 2004. The specialist that did the procedure said everything went well but I had minor complaints that the tooth was now very hot\/cold sensitive which my mouth had never been. Since the procedure, everytime I brush, it is the only tooth whose gums bleed around it, and my dental floss gets caught on it at times.<\/p>\n
My regular dentist took an x-ray of the tooth only to find that it was a failed root canal<\/a>, the filling doesn’t quite go to the tips of the roots, and that I have a large tooth abscess<\/a> above the roots. He suggested that I try and get the specialist that origionally performed the procedure to pay for it, but the specialist said he did everything right and that he won’t. Is there a way to get him to pay for it? Shannon, But the problem with floss catching and your gums bleeding, that’s a problem with the dental crown<\/a>. It has nothing to do with the root canal.

\nUnfortunately, you’re probably not going to be able to get the specialist who did the root canal treatment<\/a>\u00a0to pay for fixing it. Sometimes, even when a dentist does the best he or she can, a root canal treatment doesn’t work out.<\/p>\n
