Your Review (A ClearChoice complaint)
“I agreed to pay $1000 for a consultation. When I couldn’t designate the $30,000 and funds it was going to take for my work the sales rep known as Michele advised me that with the $18,000 I was preapproved with CareCredit. If I paid $1000 more I would get to $20,000 and they could schedule my surgery. I agreed and started receiving a bill from CareCredit shortly thereafter, and came to terms that I could not afford it and canceled the February surgery date in December. I promptly notified CareCredit of this. I had no work done by this company and they are not refunding the extra thousand dollars that I agreed to pay for the work to be done and Synchrony Bank/CareCredit is still charging me $1000 stating that the provider advised that there were extra fees. I had no work done by this company. This was my second consultation with them and hopes to get my teeth restored I subsequently had to go to Mexico for a much more affordable option, they are not refunding the extra money that I paid and I am facing a negative credit impact on my score due to the career credit charge. CareCredit is unable to or will not provide me with an itemized bill of what the extra charges are. I have contacted the Attorney General and the consumer protection bureau with no success. This is a very concerning practice at this company has going on. I plan to go to the news In hopes to save someone else from this grief.”

Comment by Dr. Hall:
I think the problem with CareCredit is that they have paid the money to ClearChoice, and they are looking to you for the repayment. I would guess that you need to get ClearChoice to refund the money to CareCredit, which should get you off the hook. And, if you have an ethical dental board, you should be able to get leverage through them.
